Ken Jeffers Ken’s illustrious improv career started with an advertisement in the local Casa Grande Dispatch in August 2006. He answered an advertisement offering improv classes taught by Ken Ferguson. Jeffers had no improv or acting experience but had always had an affinity for improvisational and sketch comedy. Stepping outside his comfort zone, Jeffers knew immediately after his first session with Ferguson that this would become more than just a hobby. Approximately one year later he became a founding member of “Exit 185”, Casa Grande’s first Imrov Troupe. A Casa Grande native, Jeffers is a local optometrist with a very supportive wife and two beautiful daughters.
Jean Kolder In the announcement for classes, Improv Guru Ken Ferguson stated that the classes would focus on spontaneity. As we all know, Jean is the least spontaneous person in the Northern Hemisphere. She earned this distinction while vacationing at Disneyland armed with a clipboard and checklist, urging her family to hurry up so they could have fun!! Since the Improv Classes were cheaper than psychotherapy, her family encouraged her to sign up. While disappointed that she did not learn the secret of improv, which apparently can only be revealed while she is in the ladies room, she nevertheless enjoyed herself.
Jean is a Jersey girl and admits that watching “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reminds her of Thanksgiving dinner at her Mom’s. She is married to the amazing Rudy and they have two children. She is proud to be part of Casa Grande’s first improv troupe.
Troy Row Troy began improv classes in Casa Grande with Ken Ferguson, then graduated from The Torch Theatre in Phoenix where he still performs with various groups. CAC drama credits include Guys and Dolls (Harry the Horse), and Home on the Morning Train (Carl). He is studying to become a fire fighter, and hopes to further his comedy career.
Rob Williams Rob comes to the troupe from a music background; performing, writing and arranging Bluegrass, jazz, musical numbers and concert music through college and beyond. Improv training was accomplished locally with Ken Ferguson. He started as a youngster in show business, heckling Wayne Newton at a Steel Pier show in Atlantic City, shortly after meeting Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. Rob is still wary of visiting Las Vegas. Locally he has informally assisted his wife, Cheryl who directed the Casa Grande Middle School Drama Club for six years. By day he is the technical director for a newspaper publishing company.
